Dharma Discussions

April 16: Dharma as Walking the Path to the Pure Land

  • What is the Dharma?
  • How can we incorporate it into our everyday lives?
  • Why is it essential for reaching the Pure Land?

On Sunday, April 16, 2017, the Buddhist Education Committee will sponsor another Dharma Discussion.  This will be an interactive and informal session. Come join us at 11:30 AM for lunch followed by the discussion from Noon–1:30p.m. in the classrooms in the church.

Please RSVP: (sacbc@sbcglobal.net) or leave a message at 510-471-2581 if you plan to attend so we have a ball park count on how many to plan for lunch. In an attempt to “be green,” we ask that you bring your own cup or mug.

Sunday, May 7

Dharma Discussion – “Sangha: A Fellowship Walking the Path to the Pure Land”

We will define what a true Sangha is, what it can offer us and how it can support us in our lives, as Buddhists.

  • What is a Sangha and how does it relate to Buddhism?
  • Are there different types of Sanghas?
  • How do I become a member, and what will be expected of me?
  • How will a Sangha support me in my life, and in my practice?
  • What are the best ways to get involved with my Sangha?
